A valve datasheet can define pressure class, material, end connection and test standard. It does not, by itself, prove that the factory named in the purchase order can repeatedly manufacture and document the valve as required.

Supplier shall provide a complete butterfly valve operator package suitable for the stated service and duty. The quotation shall identify the applicable editions of ISO 5211, ISO 22109, ISO 5640 where a mounting kit is used, API 609 or other valve design standard, and the pressure-test basis. Supplier shall submit valve torque data, actuator or gearbox sizing calculation, selected safety factor, maximum allowable valve stem torque, interface drawing, mounting-kit details, fail action, operating time, control accessories, GA drawing, datasheets, IOM documents, and a complete deviation list. Mechanical interface compliance alone shall not be accepted as evidence of actuator sizing.

Final Approval Checklist

  • Document the valve service and differential-pressure case.
  • Require exact standard editions.
  • Obtain valve torque and maximum allowable stem torque.
  • Check output at the minimum available supply condition.
  • Show the ISO 5211 interface and drive dimensions on the approval drawing.
  • Include the mounting kit in torque and corrosion reviews.
  • Define fail action, cycle time, controls and manual override.
  • Require one assembly responsibility statement and an explicit deviation list.
